Things Singapore Taught Me about Travel

Do you remember the time when your parents take down the Christmas decorations and keep everything in one corner and that corner looks supernaturally magnificent because all the glitter, stars, trees, streamers and lights are curled up together?

And to make it more fun, you connect the tied bundles of lights to the switch and turn it on.. and it lights up like never before, maybe because of the fact that the tiny & colorful bulbs are very close to each other and surrounded with so much magic! This is what Singapore looks like! Jazzed up, luminous, uptight, striking & stunning! You can't help but fall in love with the city and the prodigious whereabouts it has to offer. But as it is said, you didn't enjoy your drink if you didn't shake it well. There are some things you need to do if you want to see a better Singapore and I learnt those things when I last visited this astounding place.

So here are some travel tips that need to go in your travel notepad before you take off.....

Let's talk about Cost first. Food, accommodation, transport etc.. are the inevitable expenses and you need to manage each of them accurately. Accommodation is not cheap in Singapore, so be prepared to splurge out good amount of currency.

Next comes the Food...

There are plenty of eateries especially alongside the road which offer delicious food in less than $4 per meal.. After that, sky is the limit! Transportation is another problem faced by lot of travelers. There are plenty of buses and taxis around Singapore but the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) runs the length and breadth of the country.. Other activities in Singapore are not that expensive. Entries to most of the places like Singapore Botanical Gardens and Bukit Timah Nature Reserve are free Is your wallet already crying? Well, don't worry. Here are some money tips which might avoid that burnt hole in your pocket.

 a) Use Public Transport. If you plan to travel too much, you can get a Singapore tourist pass which will allow you to board a number of trains and busses.

b) Eat on Smith Street. The stalls here are very cheap and offer a large variety of local snacks and light food.
c) Eat Cheap.Do not spend too much money in eating. Try eating at local restaurants like Chinatown, Little India etc and save for the real adventure ahead

One of the things that Singapore taught me about travel is that, never leave the culture of the city behind in the lieu of exploring fancy malls and pubs. Thian Hock Keng Temple is one of the most photogenic buildings you will ever see. The temple was constructed in 1840 and was designated as the national building in 1973. DO NOT miss The Merlion Statues. The exotic statue/ fountain showcasing half fish and half lion is the national mascot of Singapore and you cannot leave the country without hanging out with these beautiful pieces of art

With the blinding glitterazzi, don't forget to explore the beautiful zooz, night safari and botanical gardens in Singapore. Wander through the swaths of virgin rainforest (the mainboardwalk through it is entered from Upper Palm Valley Road) and then take in the National Orchid Garden's many-colored collection of 1,000 orchid species and 2,000 hybrids. When you're done, drop into the food court near Tanglin Gate for a traditional local breakfast of soft-boiled eggs, coffee and toast slathered with coconut jam. And yes! Don't forget to ride the giant Ferris wheel. So, these are some tips which are often lost behind huge posh and sophisticated places meant to be seen. This will help you in making your trip more economical and memorable one.

Top 10 off Beat Destinations to Travel

http://www.packngo.in/

10. Cappadocia Turkey

Above ground, Central Anatolia's Cappadocia region is known for the unique "fairy chimney" rock formations into which dwellings were carved (some of them have been "converted" into rock hotels in recent years). In towns such as Ürgüp and Göreme you can make arrangements to see this surreal landscape from a hot-air balloon. Below ground, Cappadocia has myriad Bronze Age cities, whose dwellings and other structures were carved into stone cliffs, several floors deep, by troglodytes. You can tour a handful of these underground metropolises, including Derinkuyu.

9. Bubblegum Alley

Bubblegum Alley is an attraction you can be a part of. The wall of chewed bubblegum in San Luis Obispo, Calif., has been growing since the 1970s. The sticky, colorful wall is a must-see for gum chewers and those who want to ick out their germaphobe travel companions.

8. Beppu, Japan

Located on the island of Kyushu, Japan, Beppu is a city smack in the middle of the sea and mountains. Beppu is known for its hot springs, called onsen in Japanese. Here you will find eight different geothermal hot spots, often dubbed the “eight hells of Beppu.” This unusual amount of hot springs, condensed in one small region, is what makes Beppu so unique in comparison to the rest of Japan and the rest of the world. It continues to be a popular tourist attraction for visitors every year.

7. Mount Cook

We expect nothing less than spectacular from the home of middle earth. The Lord of the Rings took full advantage of this stunning country. It's almost paradise no matter where you go in New Zealand. We're particularly fond of Mount Cook. It is the highest mountain in the country. Mount Cook is lucky enough to enjoy 300 in of rainfall a year. This makes for some great scenery. You never know if Sméagol is lurking around the corner. But, we think it’s worth the risk.

6. Derweze, Turkmenistan

This giant desert crater in Central Asia's Karakum Desert has been on fire for decades, resembling a scene from a sci-fi movie. Known by locals as the Door to Hell, it was created when the Russians drilled here for natural gas, causing the earth to collapse, gas to be released and fires to rage. Geologists believed that the fires would quickly go out — but that was back in 1971. The crater, now quite a tourist attraction, is 160 miles south of the capital, Ashgabat. Most visitors use the nearby village of Derweze as their base.

5. Zorb in Zealand

Zorbing in New Zealand is a travel experience not to be missed. What else do you do with a huge plastic sphere? Climb inside and tumble down a grassy hill! What were you thinking? Luckily the balls are reinforced with a layer of air between you and the ground. That would be interesting, but probably very painful. And what’s the best part? The water inside each ball creates your own mini water park while you hurl yourself across a New Zealand farm. At $40 a pop, we think the hilarious ride is well worth it.

4. Northern Lights, Iceland

Northern Europe spends much of the year shrouded in darkness, though the night skies are often lit with the ribbons of green, red and purple light known as the aurora borealis. The chance to see this depends on timing, weather and simple luck, but in Iceland a good bet is to visit between September and March. The lights are visible from Reykjavík, though geothermal pools in rural locales, some just a 30-minute drive from the capital, make for great viewing points.

3. Yunessun Spa Resort

If you've always wanted to soak in your favorite beverage, a visit to Japan's Hakone Kowakien Yunessun Hot Springs Amusement Park & Spa Resort is in order. Not only can you take a relaxing dip in your run-of-the-mill Jacuzzis, but you can bathe in spas filled with sake, green tea, coffee or red wine.

2. Lake Nakuru, Kenya

Due to vast amounts of algae in the water, Lake Nakuru is known for attracting one of the largest flamingo populations in the world. At any given moment, there can be anywhere from thousands to millions of flamingos lining the shore. Nowhere else in the world can this most unusual site of herds of flamingos be seen.

1. Blue Lagoon

Just a 20 minute drive from the Keflavik International Airport in Iceland will get you over to Blue Lagoon. It sits in the center of the Grindavik lava field, and is surrounded by luxurious accommodations. The warm 98–102 °F water of Blue Lagoon is rich with valuable minerals. It's often thought to have health benefits, particularly for the skin. And nearby is the Blue Lagoon Clinic hotel, which is only available to its spa guests. Spa guests get to choose from in water massages, Silica massages, and various beauty treatments. The luxury hotspot is complete with a cafe, restaurant, and bar. We kind of hate the people that over there right now.

South Africa Culture and Travel - Explorer's View

South Africa is one of the most fascinating and wonderful countries in Africa and in the world. South Africa famous for its natural beauty, wildlife and sunshine. South Africa's immensely varied terrain supports a rich diversity of animals, birds, and plant-life and offers an incomparable range of experiences. South Africa is a popular tourist destination, with the main tourist attractions are the diverse and picturesque culture, the game reserves and the highly regarded local wines. Exotic combinations of landscapes, people, history and culture offer the tourist a unique and inspiring experience.

South Africa is full of surprises and my top list of things to do includes riding an Ostrich, canoeing through a desert in bloom, riding a luxury train, spending the night in a  tree-house, cage-diving with the Great White shark, playing golf, relaxing a a spa, and checking out a local soccer (football) game.

South Africa has set aside much of the country for the protection of wildlife. The largest and best known reserve is Kruger. The state-owned-and-operated sanctuary is also one of the most affordable and therefore requires a reservation far ahead of a visit. Accommodations range from camp sites to luxury "private" camps. Visitors usually view the animals from their cars, but they can also sign up for walks in the company of armed rangers. With its majestic Table Mountain background, Cape Town is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and most fascinating South africa tourist Attractions. A harmonious blend of architectural styles reflects the tastes of dictates of the past as well as today's more functional requirements. Between the high-rise office blocks, Edwardian and Victorian buildings have been meticulously preserved, and many outstanding examples of Cape Dutch architecture are found. Narrow, cobble stone streets and the strongly Islamic ambiance of the Bo-Kaap enhance the cosmopolitan ambiance of the city. South Africa is famous for its terrestrial fauna, including the "Big Five" (lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino, and elephant). But the country is surrounded on three sides by oceans teeming with life, including whales, flying sharks, seals, sea otters, dolphins, tuna, and penguins and other marine birds. The annual sardine run is a mass migration so large that thousands of people crowd the beaches to scoop up the small silvery fish in buckets. One of the best places to view breaching whales is at Hermanus, a few hours' drive from Cape Town. The town has its own whale crier, an official who keeps a lookout and blows a horn whenever whales come in to the bay, sometimes only yards away from the shore.
Johannesburg is the economic powerhouse of Africa. South Africa’s pulsating African heartbeat is felt in the ‘City of Gold’ with its endless opportunities for shopping, entertainment, freedom tours and eating out. Johannesburg is a booming, happening city and the emphasis is on making money - whether in business or on the streets - and has been since its beginnings when the world’s richest gold fields were discovered in Johannesburg during the 1880s.

One of Africa's most famous landmarks, Table Mountain has welcomed seafarers to South Africa for centuries. The sandstone mountain is some two miles (three kilometers) wide and 3,500 feet (1,000 meters) high, offering magnificent views of Table Bay, Robben Island, and the Cape Town metro area, which completely encircles it. The Big Hole in Kimberley, is a remnant of South Africa's great diamond rush of the 19th century. Thousands of people from all over the world poured into the region after diamonds were discovered. They dug this 550-yard-wide (500-meter-wide) hole, which was on a farm owned by the De Beer family, by hand. Today the hole is Kimberley's most popular tourist attraction, along with a museum that recalls the town's glory days.

The Robben island is most famous prisoner, Nelson Mandela, has turned this institute of brutality into a symbol of the triumph of the human spirit over enormous hardship. Robben Island Museum goes way beyond a prison and the telling of its history; it has symbolic significance not only for South African society with its great diversity of cultures, but for the world. Over and above its emotional story stretching back to the mid-1600s, it is a symbol of justice, human rights and self-sacrifice.
The Palace of the Lost City is an entirely modern inventiona giant casino, entertainment, and leisure complex built in the bush. The theme of the resort is that it is a palace in the African jungle inhabited by a lost tribe of gentle people. The nearby Pilanesberg National Park is the third largest game reserve in South Africa and a good place to see big game and thousands of other animals in their natural wilderness setting.

What Goa Holiday meant for you? (Goa – Friendship land)

It so happened that recently me and my friend got a new job, with not to mention huge salary and a high standard of living that because of which we hardly get the time to spend with each other. So we thought that it is time to have that wonderful conversation with a beautiful beach and a bottle of beer just to loosen up and what better place could it be than going to Goa.

After confirming our Goa Holiday Package, we thought that Goa has a long stretch of sandy beaches on which we can have a never ending conversation so for that matter we thought of Agonda Beach, it is located north of Palolem Beach which is perfect for those looking to get away from it all because it is comparatively less crowded. We stayed in a simple hut where we were sipping cool coconut water and cherishing our old friendship.
Now when our friendship was slowly reviving we thought Anjuna Beach which is home to hippies. On Wednesday we thought of going to the Anjuna Flea market where you will find hordes of tourists coming and enjoying. We bought the lovely goan hat which was giving us the complete holiday feel. At the end of the beach just to loosen up a little bit on the disco which is situated at the end of the Anjuna Beach.
The next day in the morning we thought of going to Calangute beach which is the busiest and commercial beach. As we reached we could see so many foreigners bathing in the sun and we joined there league. The end of the Calangute beach paves way to Baga beach where there are a lot of water sports. Club Tito and Mambo are some of the legendary nightlife which one would find at the Baga Beach
Beach and Resort in goa

Old “Goa is famous for churches and cathedrals” and it is the largest in Asia. One of the most spectacular building is the convent and the church of Saint Francis of Assisi which was built in 1521. It contains the preserved remains of the body of Saint Frances Xavier, a revered missionary and the patron saint of Goa.
Goa is also famous for spice plantations of Ponda where the tropical climate and dense forests make it an ideal place to grow spices and one of the most important plantations in Goa is Savoi plantation and others include Sahakari Spice farms, Pascol Spice Village. Accommodations and boat rides are also offered at many farms.
So after this long Goa tour we could revive is old friendship and that is the reason I say that Goa is not just a destination but rather if I may say it is a friendship land.
